J-Hub proposes to launch from this academic year a 3 month accelerator program. The top teams of EXCITE 2017 shall become eligible to apply. The selection to the accelerator program shall be through a committee of industry experts. Top 10 ideas selected by the committee shall be nurtured to product development through contact sessions (weekend) scheduled every week for three months.
EXCITE is a 4-Week Summer Product Engineering workshop being held annually at JNTUH. Executed successfully for the past three years the workshop has nearly 250 participants forming about 75 teams representing 25 colleges. The students successfully built prototypes of their preliminary ideas registered at the beginning of the workshop.
J-Hub shall conduct to the prospective incubates a short duration weekend startup camp for stakeholders to understand the entire life cycle of the innovation/incubation eco-system along with makers space lab. This is believed to provide the students an opportunity to experiment on startup building and provide a deeper understanding of the incubation process.
Students and other stakeholders of the J-Hub can have access to the mentors on the board of J-Hub. The mentors support various aspects of the innovation management as they have functional expertize in varied fields starting from Entrepreneurship, Product development, startup incubation, idea validation, technology support, venture investment, marketing, IPR, technology commercialization and tech-enterprise incubation.
J-hub shall organize, on regular basis technology workshops to support tech-product development. The workshops are targeted to develop in stakeholders the knowledge and skills in the chosen domain. The technology workshops for skill development of all the graduates is also planned to strengthen the employability skills of the graduates so as to prepare them undertake jobs requiring higher order skills. A part of J-Hub hot technology Labs are being setup with the support of industry so as to provide technology support for innovation.
The J-Hub at JNTUH will conduct on regular basis the central Hackathon events based on the Challenges posed by the Industry and Startups on latest technologies and functional domains. In addition J-Hub would also act as a touch point of the university to any national Hackathon events conducted and will select and mentor the participants for the events.
The J-Hub program along with the institution level i-cells is committed to seed innovation in all students graduating from JNTUH. In order to achieve this goal. JHub proposes to conduct idea competitions right from the first year of the B.Tech program. Students in the first year will be exposed to teaser workshops and brilliant ideas and technology solutions for the challenges will be picked up.
J-Hub proposes to support a series of entrepreneurship development programs ranging from 1-day motivational talks to 2-week training programs from the Organization Leaders and experts in the field.
J-Hub proposes to identify students who have good business acumen to convert technological idea to successful enterprises. J-Hub thus forms a suitable platform to build teams with members with remarkable business acumen to supplement members with innovative ideas and technical expertise. B-Plan contests provide such an opportunity where the Business Plan of the teams will be mentored and validated by CEOs and other experts on the mentor board.
